Talpe, and Everything Around It

EKA Beach sits directly on the sand in Talpe, a quieter stretch of Sri Lanka's south coast a little apart from the crowds of Unawatuna and Mirissa. You're about ten minutes from the Southern Expressway off-ramp, which makes getting here from Colombo straightforward, and under fifteen minutes from Galle Fort — the sixteenth-century, UNESCO-listed old town, still ringed by its original ramparts and full of cafés and shopfronts to wander for an afternoon.

Closer to home, Talpe has its own quiet rhythm: local cafés and small restaurants within easy reach, Buddhist temples tucked along the coast road, and turtles feeding in the shallows off the beach itself. The coastline here is also known for its water sports — surfing, snorkelling, and diving are all within reach — and for botanical gardens along the south coast if you'd rather spend a day among the plant life than the surf.

It's an easy base: close enough to Galle to spend a full day there and be back on the sand by evening, far enough from it to fall asleep to the tide instead of traffic.
